Sell service plans that book their own visits

A service plan sets what a customer pays and when you show up. You build it once. A customer signs up once. The visits land on your calendar without you typing them in. You can call it a maintenance plan or a membership.

Every plan has the same parts. You fill them in once in the plan editor.
| Part | What you set |
|---|---|
| Name and description | What the customer sees |
| Price | What they pay each billing cycle |
| Billing | A cycle from every week to every year, plus a count |
| Visits | How often you show up, from none to monthly |
| Free trial days | Days before the first charge |
| Feature list | A plain list of what is included |
Billing is covered on the recurring billing page.
Four kinds of plan
Recurring. A price on a billing cycle. A pool pro might charge for a weekly visit, billed monthly.
Class pack. A set number of visits, for example 10 walks for $250, which is $25 a walk. Ruunly tracks the balance.
Drop in. A single visit, charged once.
One time. A single charge for a single job.
Today, customers sign up online for recurring plans.
Visits appear on your calendar by themselves
Pick a visit rhythm from weekly to monthly. Ruunly keeps about 6 upcoming visits created for each customer. It only creates visits inside your booking window. If a day is full, it moves the visit to the next open day. That can be up to 21 days later.
What your customer sees
They see your plans page and pick a plan. At checkout they choose a first visit date and a window. After that they use a portal. It lists upcoming services and has a pause control. A separate button skips a visit. Want customers to book one-off jobs too? See online booking.
When a customer needs a change
Skip. The customer skips a visit from their portal. It moves to the same time the following week.
Pause. The customer picks a resume date. They get a reminder email before the plan restarts.
Change plan. The customer sees a price preview before they confirm.
If a card fails, the customer is emailed a link to fix it. See failed payment recovery.
Price a plan in five questions
- What is one visit worth?
- How many visits are in a year?
- Do you bill monthly or by quarter?
- What is your slow season rule? Pause or keep billing.
- How many customers can one crew carry?
A pool pro charges $35 a visit with one visit a week. That is 52 visits and $1,820 a year. Billed monthly, that is about $151.67 a month ($1,820 divided by 12). The customer pays the same amount in a five-week month. You stop sending 4 or 5 separate invoices.
These numbers are examples, not a price list. Plans come with every tier. See pricing for what each tier allows.
Plans by trade
Four examples. The features page lists all 12 trades.
- Pool service. Visit every week and send one flat monthly bill.
- Lawn care. Bill a weekly visit once a month and pause over winter with a resume date.
- Dog walking. Offer a weekly walk plan, billed monthly.
- Hair salon and barber. Offer a monthly membership.
Growth plans can also add loyalty points.
Questions
Can I bill monthly but visit every week?
Yes. Billing frequency and visit frequency are separate settings on the plan.
Can a plan be a set number of visits instead of a monthly price?
You can set up a class pack, a fixed number of visits, and Ruunly tracks the balance. Online sign-up on your plans page is for recurring plans.
Can customers skip a visit?
Yes. They skip from their portal, and the visit moves to the same time the following week.
How many recurring customers can I have?
Starter allows up to 25 recurring clients. Pro allows up to 100. Growth has no limit.
