Customer loyalty built in

One-time cleans, one-off lawn cuts, single pool drains — those pay the bills this month. Repeat customers pay the bills next month, and the month after that. Ruunly ships a built-in loyalty program so every paid invoice automatically pulls your customer closer to their next booking.

Included in Growth — $129/month. No third-party loyalty app, no extra subscription, no Zapier wiring. Just enable it from your billing settings.

How it works on the operator side

You enable loyalty from Settings → Billing → Loyalty Rewards and set four numbers:

  • Points per $1 spent. Default is 1 point per dollar paid. Customers earn automatically the moment Stripe marks an invoice paid.
  • Bonus points per referral. When a customer refers a friend who signs up, the referrer gets a bonus credit. Default is 100 points.
  • Bonus points per anniversary. Every customer gets a bonus on each one-year membership anniversary. Default is 250 points. A nightly job credits the points automatically.
  • Redemption rate + maximum discount. Default is 100 points = $1 off, with a maximum of 50% off any single invoice. That works out to 1% cashback at the default rates — you can dial it up or down to match your margins.

The setup screen shows you the effective cashback percentage in real time as you adjust the dials, so you can see exactly what you are committing to before you save.

What customers see in the portal

Every customer logged in to the Ruunly portal sees their points balance, the dollar equivalent at your current redemption rate, and a running log of every earn event (which invoice, which referral, which anniversary). When they have a pending invoice and enough points to redeem, a one-click Redeem button appears — they pick how many points to apply, the discount drops off the invoice total, and Stripe charges the lower amount.

The minimum-redemption setting prevents nuisance one-point redemptions, and the maximum-discount-percent ceiling protects you from anyone wiping out an invoice entirely. Every redemption is logged with a ledger entry so you can reconcile against Stripe at any time.

Why this is unusual at this price

Most service-business software treats loyalty as someone else's problem. The three platforms most often compared to Ruunly — Jobber, Housecall Pro, and Square for service businesses — do not ship a native points-based loyalty program for recurring service customers as of our last review. Operators bolt on a separate loyalty app, learn another tool, and pay for another subscription.

Ruunly Growth includes loyalty alongside billing, the customer portal, the website, and everything else — so the points balance lives in the same place your customer already logs in to manage their card and their schedule. No extra tab to install. No extra invoice every month.

How service businesses actually use this

Lawn care + landscaping

A weekly mow at $45 puts 45 points in the customer's account every visit. At the default rate, after 11 weeks they have built up enough for a free mow worth $5 off. It is small money — but it is the kind of small money that turns "I'll get to it next week" into "keep coming" when the competitor across the street is also $45. Use anniversary bonuses to mark the end of the first full season as a loyalty milestone.

House cleaning

Bi-weekly cleans at $140 earn 140 points each visit. Customers see their balance climb in the portal — which is the same portal they already use to reschedule or update their card — so loyalty becomes a visible reason to keep the recurring plan instead of switching to a cheaper one-off competitor. Pair with referral bonuses to turn happy customers into your top lead source.

Pool service

Monthly maintenance customers earn predictable points each month. Combine with the anniversary bonus to give a meaningful one-year credit — useful for keeping customers on the books through the winter slowdown when they question whether they still need the visit.

What about Starter and Pro?

Loyalty is a Growth-tier feature. Starter ($19/mo) and Pro ($59/mo) get everything else — the AI website, recurring billing, the customer portal, intake forms, estimates, automations — but the loyalty program lives at Growth ($129/mo). You can upgrade with one click from your billing settings any time; existing customer data carries forward, and points start accumulating on the next paid invoice.
